This morning was the first of the Sharing Ink drops… I snuck into the City Library and left these Journals around various parts of the building. Such an exciting adventure!

Journal 26, Journal 27 and Journal 8 hand backs
This morning I headed into town to collect two more Journals from their Inscribers. First I dropped in at Journal 26′s Inscriber’s studio. We had a quick catch up (we talked about pants quite a bit, and then about dresses) and they gave me back Journal 26, and then I had to dash to my next meeting.
I arrived a little early to my meeting with the Inscriber for Journal 27, so I sat and pondered the very old books on the bookshelf next to me. All cracking spines and disintegrating covers, sharing secrets of how to wire radios together, how to make wooden tables and how 1950s enthusiasm will propel you into career success. To be fair, the books arn’t this Inscribers, they’re just houses at this office. Then the Inscriber arrived and handed over Journal 27. This Inscriber has an exhibition opening next week so has been quite focused on that. It’s so awesome that some many amazing people have found time to participate in Sharing Ink.
When I got home, what was waiting for me in the letter box but Journal 8! This Inscriber and I had a major schedule clash, so they posted it to me to get it here on time. How nice was that?
So three more ready to go out for people to find next week! I’m so excited!
Journal 26 Hand over
The other day I headed into the city for the handover of Journal 26. This Inscriber has a studio in TheĀ NicholsonĀ Building, which I always love visiting. It’s an old 1920s (definitely) hotel (I think) and each room is now a studio for artists and smallĀ businesses. The amazing Vali Myers had a studio in this building until she died, it was dark and villied with glorious materials and artworks and trinkets from her wild life. I visited once, in my under grad days, and did a (slightly overawed (me, not her)) interview with her.
This Inscriber has almost the opposite type of studio, all light filled and chock full of things they are working on. I spent about an hour with this Inscriber, chatting about the state of the world, the state of our art forms and the creative process. This Inscriber loved the fans on their Journal, and revealed that they always have trouble starting a new book, so I think it’ll be interesting how they will Inscribe their Journal!
Journal 25, Journal 26, Journal 27, Journal 28 and Journal 29
Somehow I managed not to upload these Journals before I uploaded Journal 30. Whoops!
