After doing Drop 2 this morning, I headed into the State Library to meet with Journal 4′s Inscriber. They suggested I meet them in the Red Room, which is the portrait room near the Redmond Barry library. This Inscriber mentioned that they’d done some research a few years ago on and mentioned two of the designers of the Melbourne city grid. Although one of the designer’s portraits wasn’t currently hanging in the Red Room, the other was and the Inscriber requested being photographed in front of it. So the old man peering over the top of the Inscriber’s head is one of the gents responsible for the way Melbourne CBD streets are laid out.
